Determination of protein and reactive lysine in leaf-protein concentrates by dye-binding.
نویسنده
چکیده
1. Twenty leaf-protein concentrates (LPC), were produced from different crops and by different processes, the latter being designed to retain maximum nutritional value of the samples. 2. The establishment of conditions for the use of CI ACid Orange 12 in a commercial dye-buffer reagent for the determination of protein and reactive (available) lysine in LPC was investigated. 3. Values for protein by dye-binding correlated well with those for tungstic-acid-precipitated nitrogen (x6.25). 4. Some LPC samples showed a loss of reactive lysine, the greatest loss being associated with the most severe processing conditions. 5. For the LPC samples studied, dye-binding provided a convenient method for the concurrent determination of protein and reactive lysine.

A comparison of the dye-binding and fluorodinitrobenzene methods for determining reactive lysine in leaf-protein concentrates.
1. Twenty-eight leaf-protein concentrate (LPC) samples, subjected to different thermal treatments, were produced from five curd batches. For these samples, the fluorodinitrobenzene (FDNB)-reactive lysine values gave closer agreement with dye-binding lysine (DBL) than with the dye-binding capacity (DBC). 2. No relationship was established between the dye-bound-after-propionylation (DBAP) and the...

متن کاملEffect of balancing low protein diets for methionine and lysine on performance of early lactation Holstein cows in hot environmental temperature
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of balancing low protein diets for methionine and lysine on performance of early lactation Holstein cows under hot environmental temperature. Twenty one multiparous Holstein cows in early lactation were allocated to three experimental rations including, 1) High protein ration with 17.5% CP, 2) Medium protein ration with 16% CP and 12 g/d rumen p...
متن کاملP99: The Role of C- Reactive Protein in Obesity and Neuropathic Diseases
Acute phase C-reactive protein (CRP), raised in obesity and inflammation, is a main binding protein for leptin. It is assumed that CRP contributes to leptin confrontation by preventing leptin from crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Here we defined how CRP cooperates with the BBB and whether it deters leptin from attainment CNS targets. CRP was constant in blood, but did not permeate the BB...

An experiment was carried out to determine the effects of different levels of lysine and protein on the performance of 240 Hy-Line W36 layers. Ten experimental diets were tested in a 2×5 factorial arrangement with a completely randomized design. Two basal diets (13 and 14% protein) were tested at different levels (10 and 20% lower than NRC, NRC and 10 and 20% above NRC recommendations). Dietary...
